  • No toothbrushing until tonight
  • Nothing to Eat or Drink for 30 minutes

• Diet while the Space Maintainer is in the mouth
  
  • No Sticky Candies
    
    • Lollipops
    • Hard Candy
    • Chewy Taffy
    • Sugary Gum

• No biting on hard objects
  
  • Pens and other Writing Utensils
  • Ice Cubes

• The properly-fitted space maintainer should not elicit any discomfort. On occasion, it may fell a bit “tight” initially- we would compare this to breaking in a new pair of shoes. A light dose of ibuprofen will alleviate this.
